Stylish Organization

My jewelry is a mess. It's all thrown into a single drawer with no organization what so ever. When I want to accessorize it takes me a very frustrating minute to untangle or find a pair of my favorite little jewels. Here are some amazingly stylish ways to organize your jewelry. I just adore the first one with the burlap cloth and cabinet pulls - how creative is that!?!

I got all these photos from my new favorite source Pinterest!!!!

Stencil The Town

I have been dreaming of wall stencils lately, all I need to do is find the perfect spot in my house. Does this sound like my next DIY project? I love wallpaper but the cost of the ones I love are so out of my budget. A little sweat equity, paint and a pretty pattern will get you the same designer look for more than half the price. Really any pattern you can dream up they have it!!!!

Here are a few of my favorite stencils from some pretty amazing online sources....

Safely Home

A few of the pieces that I purchased at Round Top Antique Fair are nestled into there new home in my house. And the other pieces are still being worked on. I am re-wiring my alabaster lamp, and waiting on a friend to come hang my Egyptian Lantern.

Here are a few snapshots in our house right now...........

The crystal chandelier is my favorite and it originally was planned to hang on top of our staircase but we liked it so much it hangs above the dinning room table. I noticed it everyday right when I walk into the house, she softens the entire room.

My little landscape print in the antique frame is hung in our guest bedroom right above the nightstand.

Down the upstairs hallway I put the dresser and antique mirror. The dresser is very old and really not good for everyday use so we store our winter blankets and granny quilts in it.

My husband had this pitcher and basin from his grandmother and it looks perfect with the dark rustic dresser.

And finally my Japanese Calligraphy brushes are in this silver pitcher...

Here is a close up shot of the handles, one is made of bone with carvings and the middle one is jade.

Tufted

I am obsessed with these new gray tufted chairs at World Market, and they are on sale for a fabulous price of $99..........

Compare that price to the ones I have be eyeing at Restoration Hardware on sale right now for $299.........

Look how amazing the chairs would look in a dining room........

What an adventure!!! We just returned from preview weekend at Round Top/Warrington Antique Show. It was such an amazing trip and I came home with most of the stuff on my list. I don't know what hurts more - my feet from all the walking or my stomach from all the laughing we did.

Here is a round up of what I came home with and the fields that I found them in......

Let The Fun Begin

Round Top is FINALLY here!!! We are about to jump in the truck and head on over to Texas. Over 1,000 antique merchants spread over four small towns, no doubt I will lose my mind this week. I hope to take pictures and report back to you guys on my findings. Wish us luck!!!!

I Got A Fever

And the only prescription... is MORE COWHIDE!!!

I got this rug from Ikea a few years ago and it's been sitting in my closet. I don't know what to do with it yet. It worked great in my old house but I can not find a place for it in our new house.

Honestly I can not make up my mind if it is creepy to have a cow on the floor?

In a futile attempt to find her a home I hit the internet for some inspiration and here are my top 3 favorites.

She is still in the closet.

Evergreen Of The Month

Her official name is Magnoliaceae Michelia Figo, I refer to her as my little Banana Magnolia!!! She has become one of my favorite evergreens in our courtyard (partly because she hides my huge hunk a metal called the a/c unit).

The flowers have this sweet ripe banana, juicy fruit gum, apple like fragrance that is delightful. I swear depending on the time of the day it smells different.

It's an old southern plant and everyone I talk to says "yea my grandmother had one of those in her yard."

It's early spring and the plant is full of buds and blooming!!

I love this plant.

I hope she likes her new home in our courtyard.

Please don't die on me baby!!!!

This House Makes Me Happy

House Beautiful 2009 featured this Austin house from designer Sara Scaglione of Shabby Slips. Years later I am still obsessing over all the rooms, and still love the feel and look of this house. She perfectly mixes modern clean lines with soft Belgian linens and timeless antiques. I am hoping to visit the Shabby Slips Houston store in the next few months, not that I can afford anything in there but it's fun to dream!!!

Alabaster Light

I love alabaster lamps they are so elegant, organic, and simple. They match any style room and are so unique. Alabaster is a type of mineral that is usually white, creamy or translucent in color. I am hoping to come home from Round Top with a beautiful alabaster lamp like the ones below......
