Blue Christmas

I was not going to even put up a Christmas tree this year but my sister gave us her old tree with all the lights and even had her kids make ornaments for us, so I figured I had no excuse to be a scrooge. I spent a few bucks on teal blue ornaments and ribbon and I must say I am pretty proud of my free tree.

My niece and nephew make these cinnamon ornaments every year and I love them!!!

Scented Cinnamon & Applesauce Ornaments

3 cups ground cinnamon
3 cups applesauce
3 tablespoons white glue

Mix the cinnamon, applesauce and glue together until it is thick enough to hold a form when cut with a cookie cutter. Let stand for 30 minutes. Flatten the mixture on a flat surface with wax paper and cut with any shape cookie cutter.

Place cookie shapes on a cookie sheet and allow to dry for 3 to 4 days depending on the size and thickness of the shapes. Turn cookie each day to dry each side. They shrink as they dry. Make a hole for hanging the ornament with a toothpick before drying. Cut lengths of ribbon to hang the ornaments on your tree.

Hope you and your families had a blessed and Merry Christmas!!!!!

Heart It

Seriously in love with this storage piece of art. Can you even believe that each cubby is lined with fabric. Goodbye cheap metal racks, hello Sarah Storage Tower from Ballard Designs.

Now I just wonder if this would fit in Santa's sled?

Thank You Father

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

We all have some much to be thankful for everyday. We have a heavenly father who adores us, who is crazy about us, who thinks we are amazing, who created us in His image and likeness, who counts every hair on our head, and He wants the best for you and your life. How amazing is that and how thankful I feel today for every breath, every tear, every smile, and every beat of my heart.

I just had to share this video. That is my dear old dad playing the guitar and singing in the background, and I am the obnoxious kid next to him crying (it's ok you can laugh)!!! I love the sound of my dad's voice. I LOVE this song!!!

The Butterfly Song

If I were a butterfly
I'd thank you Lord for giving me wings
If I were a robin in a tree
I'd thank you Lord that I could sing
If I were a fish in the sea
I'd wiggle my tail and I'd giggle with glee
But I just thank you Father for making me, me

For you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile
You gave me Jesus and you made me your child
And I just thank you Father for making me, me

If I were an elephant
I'd thank you Lord by raising my trunk
If I were a kangaroo
You know I'd hop right up to you
If I were an octopus
I'd thank you Lord for my fine looks
But I just thank you Father for making me, me

If I were a wiggly worm
I'd thank you Lord that I could squirm
If I were a fuzzy, wuzzy bear
I'd thank you Lord for my fuzzy, wuzzy hair
If I were a crocodile
I'd thank you Lord for my great smile
But I just thank you Father for making me, me.

Bed Time

I love Restoration Hardware's new distressed look but I hate the new prices!!!! I am stuck on this french Academie iron bed, the twin size is $495. Which is a fairly reasonable price considering some of their other pieces.

I could so see this working in our house.......

Wet 'n Wild Weekend

My weekend project, the master bathroom......

We are on the Ramsey budget so I have been keeping myself occupied by finishing up the projects I start around the house but never finished. I got that cute little table on the right in the unfinished furniture section last year with the hopes that I would stain it this beautiful dark stain. Well to be honested staining wood is a mess and an even bigger mess the darker you go. I completely gave up on the idea and pulled the old paint I used for the vanity to finally finish up our master bathroom.
We replaced the hold towel bar with these bronze hooks from Pottery Barn, the shower curtain is from Bed, Bath and Beyond, the bath towels from Dillard's (they are AMAZING!!), paint is from Benjamin Moore - Rockport Gray. We are still on the look out for a mirror and bronze faucet, but its not in the budget yet.

Domestic Goddess

Love this kitchen designed by Tobi Fairly!!!! I never imagined putting so much character in a kitchen with fabrics. I love the Italian paisley curtains (Suzanne Rheinstein for Lee Jofa), and the dots are a perfect companion to the paisley (Jane Churchill for Cowtan & Tout). I adore the booth connected to the kitchen island, hoping this idea would one day work in my house!!!

Here is the scoop on the paint: Sherwin Williams; wall color is Relaxed Khaki, trim is Panda White. That glamorous back splash is a glazed ceramic tile from Walker Zanger.

Wedding Ceremony

I put our pictures from the wedding ceremony on video. I'll be honest with you guys this song playing in the background always make me cry. I don't know why but the instant it starts the tears start. Yes I cried the entire time I made this video. Hope you enjoy, and have a great weekend!!!!!

One Size Fits All

I am craving organization today, it's about that time to clean out the closet again and unpack the few boxes I have left. I need a defined space to store my beloved shoes. I love these ideas.......

O and I got my comfy Toms shoes in yesterday - WOW they are so amazing. I wore them to work today and I feel like I have my slippers on.

Beauty

"The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, know suffering, know struggle, know loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen." - Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Going To The Chapel

Good morning. I hope you are enjoying my jam packed week of wedding picks!!! The next line up is the church: Saint Mary Magdalen. I knew at a young age that I wanted to get married in this church. I was baptized and confirmed in this very place, so it was only fitting that I get married here. Not to mention that it is grand and beyond beautiful.

I Must Have Done Something Good

Ahhh to be madly in love with such a wonderful man!!!! Here are a few more pictures from our wedding to get you through hump day. It's official....... I am completely smitten with our wedding photographer, everything she sends me is complete and total perfection. These pics are just me and groom (a bit more to come later).....

Pretty Stairway

We have stairs in our house, they are ugly. I want a pretty staircase. I dream of the day it will look - not ugly. Until that day comes dream with me blog world.......

We are saving up the dollar bills to put some wood on the stairs. I love the huge crystal chandelier above the stairs, and a seagrass runner is a must!!!! Those are the three things on my list - crystal, seagrass, and wood.

This is from the movie "Life As We Know It," very cute movie but very predictable. I love the seagrass stair runner with the chocolate trim.

Another movie set: this house is in the movie "Holiday."

Love.

I Just Bought These Shoes

I am a high heals girl all the way - the higher the better. But my feet need a break every now and then (and my tolerance for uncomfortable shoes is wearing thin the older I get). I heard rave reviews about these little comfy canvas shoes, I ordered them today in Ash!!!! I just know I will love them, the most comfortable shoes in my closet.

With every pair of shoes purchased the company (Tom) gives a pair of NEW shoes to a child in need. This is my kind of company!!! Let the countdown to comfort begin: 3-7 business days till they arrive. Have I mentioned they are comfortable?

Holy Cow!

I love taking pictures. Have you noticed? I got my very first SLR camera three years ago and have enjoyed every minute behind the lens. We went to visit my grandparents today and I finally remembered to take the camera with me.

Cows are so funny, they have such cute faces, very docile, and so so skittish. Here are my pictures from the day, that's all.

Enjoy!!!

Moo.
Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go!!!

Serenity

This little cutie is 6 weeks old, as we say in the south - shaaaa baby. Check out her eye lashes!!

Can you just hear the gossip between these ladies, "who is that two legged homegirl with the camera and the skinny jeans?"

Pretty girl - she looks silky smooth (and fat - yes you fat girl).

I love this cow, she is posing for the camera!!!

Baby got back!! Anybody hungry for rump roast? (sorry now I am grossed out)

This is Petry the bull, they keep about 25 cows per bull on the farm.
Petry is a busy man!!

Georgia On My Mind

We have made it back from our annual Hilton Head golf trip. The hubs ends his grueling 8 month golf season on this lovely little island, and I always "need" a little trip out of town. The highlight of my week was our day trip to Savannah. We started our day eating some grilled oysters at Uncle Bubba's then headed to the beautiful parks and walked around town.

They have some wonderful shopping in Savannah, this little home store was my favorite!! I also went to my first ever Circa Lighting store - amazing!!!

After the parks and shops we went to the City Market and checked out the art and candy. We had wine and cheese at this amazing tapas restaurant. Cosmopolitan magazine called it "the sexiest places in the world, a must do."

Then we made it to River Street to watch the sunset.

We ended our day taking a haunted ghost tour, it was quite interesting to say the least.

Now back to the mounds of dirty clothes, work, and preparing for our busy halloween weekend. I need a vacation from our vacation.
