100 Days

Yesterday I took my bridal pictures!!! I was a fabulous day out at the Jungle Garden in Avery Island. The place is breathtaking, the weather could not have been more perfect, and my photographer is amazing!!! I can not wait to see the outcome.

We ran into a bunch of kids on a field trip and I could hear everyone yelling "Look its a bride" "O my gosh the bride" "Wave to the bride!!" It was quite hilarious, I guess its not something you see everyday on a school field trip.

It was like a dress rehearsal for the big day, and now I feel a lot more at ease about everything working and fitting in all the right places. I woke up this morning with a huge smile on my face anxious and giddy with excitement.

While I can not show you pictures of my dress, I will share some pictures we took when I got home playing around with my lovely bouquet, and my beautiful ring!!!

It is very surreal now - I am really getting married!!!!

About a Girl

I love lots of things, and the color pink would have to be one of the top 10 things I love, probably right below coffee. And nothing in this world says "girl" more than pink.

When my dear friend Kim was put on bed rest with the pregnancy of her second child my help was beckoned to fix up the nursery. My only stipulation was we had to use pink. When she showed me her color choice for the room, this Pristine pink paint swatch from Benjamin Moore, I was smitten. I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into making this room happen (actually their was no blood or tears, just a little sweat and lots of time).

I have to say it has turned out amazing!!! Kim has such an eye for mixing and matching antiques with a modern elegant flare.

Cuteness to the max!!!!!

I can hardly stand it, waiting for Miss Baby to see this big wide world, but she still needs to bake for a few more weeks in mommy's belly!!!

A Gallon of Moonshine

I just picked up a gallon of moonshine from my local Benjamin Moore store (that's the name of the paint color - silly). And I plan on spending my weekend with the ipod blaring and painting Britt's spare bedroom. While I do realize that most of you cringe at the thought of spending your weekend painting I actually find it very therapeutic. I can not wait to move my bedroom furniture into this space (only 106 days till "i do"), and just look how calm and beautiful the color is......

Moonshine

A few more of my favorite Benjamin Moore colors are painted upstairs in his master bedroom and hallway with the bottom wainscoting in Manchester Tan and the top walls in a crisp Linen White.

And the master bath is this rich gray color......

I love paint colors, enjoy your weekend!!! I know I will......

Carrie On

Ok so I have spent a good part of my afternoon stalking the new Sex and the City 2 movie coming out in May. I have to admit that I am most excited about seeing Carrie and Big's new condo all dolled up. Here are a few spoilers from the trailer. I have a huge crush on the bed with the trellis headboard, and wallpaper is so in!! I have a feeling this movie will not leave us disappointed. Did you hear that Adian is back??

The closet we all dream of

Love the balck and white trellis headboard

Check out the curtains behind Carrie

Could that be the kitchen behind Big?

Remember When

Staying up all night studying for that college exam was a way of life. Clive Tompsett aka the man behind the Ikea camera took this picture of this lovely bedroom. It reminds me of those college years curled up on the bed studying till the wee hours of the night.

Blooms Away

My daisies are blooming.

After a full blown war with the weeds in the courtyard I am happy to report back to you that I have won the war. The weeds had taken up residents here for many years and believe you me they were not going down without a fight. We pulled them all out and 2 weeks later they were back stronger and bigger than ever. I invested in roundup and that knocked a few of them on their feet, but still weeds. I think after months (and months) of putting up a fight they just finally had enough and the weeds are all gone.

We have big plans for the courtyard but its going to be put together one little piece at a time. Our first project is new light fixtures, but for now I will leave you with some beautiful, sunny pictures of my favorite little flower growing in the courtyard.

My yellow babies....

I know they look fake they are so perfect, but I promise those little beauties are soaking up the sun in our little courtyard today!!!

I also planted a Confederate Jasmine right by the front door (can not wait till it starts to bloom and smell) and a passion flower to climb the fence. I will post pictures the second I see a bloom.

On a sad note we had to say goodbye to our gigantic bouganvilla who did not survive the cold cold winter we had this year. Boo hoo - she was a beauty and will be missed.

Sugar Spice and Everything Nice

The organization fairy came to visit my spice cabinet!!!!

This was the typical scenario every time I opened the cabinet to find a specific spice jar: grab a chair to stand on, start unloading all the jars till I found the right one which inevitably always was the last jar all the way in the back. Then the task of stuffing every thing back in the cabinet before I could start cooking.

I got these wall mounted spice racks from Ikea and put them on the inside door of the cabinet. I got some cute labels from the craft store and filled the jars with my 12 most commonly used spices. I am a spice girl, I love my spices, having my spices organized makes me very happy!! I got a 3 tiered stand to fit inside the cabinet from Tar-Jay to put the other spice jars on, and some clear canisters for my sugar and flour.

I did take a before picture but I am just to embarrassed to show you, so your gonna have to trust me - it was a mess in here.

American Modern

In case you were wondering what I plan on doing this afternoon.......

Ahhhh my much anticipated Thomas O'Brien "American Modern" book arrived on my doorstep today and I plan on enjoying the rest of my afternoon with a healthy dose of caffeine and design.

The extremely long list of things I have to do is being put on the back burner for a few hours and I am getting my "me" time in.

Here is a little sneak peak, but your gonna have to go buy your own book to fully enjoy.

Happy looonnggg weekend!!!!
